owood Elusiv Dream and MaryAnn Schafer travelled to Louisville, KY
in June as part of the official AMHA delegation to represent the Morgan
Breed at Equitana. Erica Richards and Desiree DeVries from AMHA were on
hand to oversee things and help out and the Florida Morgan Horse Assn. helped
out in the AMHA Booth and coordinated the Morgan Horse Demos which ran twice
daily for the 4 days of the Expo. Along with Dream were Funquest Erick and
Joyce Quigley, Triumphant Courage and Karen Martz, Triple S Golden Bows
and Barbara Kallaher, Woodsong Courageous and Christina Curtiss, Bridlewood
Bo Brummel and Bridlewood Brittany owned by Bill and Claudia Parkhurst and
Man O' Man with There Comes A Time owned by Barb Mottern. Dream and Erick
carried the American Flags and represented the Dressage/AMHA Sport Horse
Award Winning Morgans with a Pas-de-deux, Triumphant Courage represented
the Morgan Side-Saddle/Fox Hunter, Bows represented the Hunter Pleasure
and Western Morgan as well as In-hand, Woody and Christina represented the
Eng. Pleasure and In-Hand Morgans, Brittany and Bo Brummel were ridden Roman
Style by Cole Barnett, and Man O' Man and his son There Comes a Time were
driven Tandem by Sterling Graburn.
Also on hand to take turns in the AMHA booth were Raintree Red Roses
and Justa Joy!!
The Morgans were well received in the Demo's and entertained visitors
back at the barn as well as in the AMHA Booth. During the evening Mane Event,
Eitan Beth-Halchemy and Holiday Compadre entertained the audience with Cowboy
Dressage as only Eitan can do!! (During the day Eitan, well recovered from
his heart surgery, was on hand to support the rest of us in the AMHA Demo's!)
An additional boon for the Morgan Breed was when Linda Tellington-Jones
selected Funquest Erick to use in her featured Clinics and proceeded to
ride him bridleless both times!! The audiences at each Clinic were very
impressed with this handsome Morgan stallion's good manners and willing
nature!

All in all it was a great experience and a great venue for promoting
the Morgan Horse to the general public!! |
