MUNZEL'S KY GRACE
- (AMHA #082011) 1981 15.2h Mare
- Bred by Munzel Morgans of Lafayette, CO.
- Owned and shown by Laurie Prindle of Berthoud, CO.
-
- "Grace" has competed in Novice Combined Training and Dressage
for many years now. She won her first blue ribbon on her first outing as
a "green" 6 yr old (with a green rider to boot!) at a local Colorado
Hunter Pace by being "clean" and only 4 seconds off the optimum
time. She went on to compete and place at many Horse Trials in the MSCTA/
Area IX region such as winning the MSCTA/Area IX Spring Gulch Horse Trials
Beginner Novice, a third at MSCTA/Area IX Windy Wyoming Horse Trials Beginner
Novice, a third at Open Novice at Kilcarry/USCTA Horse Trials, a sixth
at Open Novice at Abbe Ranch/USCTA Horse Trials (and that division had
over 40 horses in it!), an 8th at Open Novice at Round Top/USCTA Horse
Trials (that one had 30 horses in the division) and receiving the BVDCTA
Beginner Novice Horse Award in 1991. She received her USCTA Novice Completion
Award in 1992. She also qualified for USCTA Area IX Championships in Open
Novice in 1992 but was unable to go due to lack of transportation. She
garnered a lot of praises in clinics with Denny Emerson, Jim Graham and
David O'Brien. Grace has won numerous ribbons at 2 Phase CT events, Pair
and Hunter Paces (including Best Co-ordinated Team twice at the Abbe Ranch
Pair Pace) and Colorado RMDS Dressage shows at Training and First Level,
as well as sheperding greenies around many Hunter Paces over the years.
She has also taken many greenies out for their first trail rides, messed
around with cows, team penning and competitive trail over the years. She
is affectionately known as "The Tail" on the CT circuit, and
is now schooling Second Level Dressage, in hopes of getting her AMHA Bronze
Medallion in Dressage in 1999 at the age of 18!
