The Morgan Horse Association of Australia came into existence in 1990 and has done much to promote the breed through presenting horses at breed and stallion parades; information stands at horse related events; and having articles published in Australian horse magazines. It has held breeding, nutrition and show preparation seminars; a harness training weekend; and produces a regular newsletter. The Association has run an annual breed show since 1993 which attracts a very high percentage of the total Australian Morgan population, with people travelling long distances to attend. The Association has approximately 60 members; a Board of five; Pure and Part Bred Registrars, plus State Liaison people in South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia. With this combined enthusiasm, the Morgan breed should enjoy a steady growth in numbers and popularity in Australia.
